With support from Cork County Council and the Heritage Council, under the County Heritage Plan Funding, this map has now been digitised and a print of same was unveiled at Bandon library to celebrate Heritage Week 2023.

This detailed historical map is at a scale of five feet to one statute mile. A notable feature of the map is the presence of older street names. Some street names include Shannon Street (now Oliver Plunkett Street), Burlington Quay (McSwiney Quay), Cavendish Quay (St. Patrick's Quay) Warner's Lane (Casement Road), Gallows Hill Street (Chapel Street) and Devonshire Square (Allen Square)

Another noteworthy feature is the demarcation on the map of the old town walls. Furthermore, some features also give an indication of life in Bandon in the mid 19th century: the presence of a butter market near Weir Street, the train station and an old gasometer on the Glaslynn road, a vegetable market near Bridge Place and interestingly a potato market on Market Street near the location of the present-day library.</text>

This detailed historical map is at a scale of five feet to one statute mile. A notable feature of the map is the presence of older street names. Another noteworthy feature is the demarcation on the map of the old town walls. <text>Cumann Seanchais na Banndan donated a map of Bandon town c. 1860s to Cork County Library in 2023.
